Hats Off to Heroes Honorees 2020
What’s a Hats Off Hero? He or she is somebody worth celebrating for who they are or what they do. These are people who have caught the attention of a company or other benefactor to single out and brag about. People who work behind the scenes are likely candidates, along celebrities and dignitaries. Heroes are people who make a difference. Honoring these people is what Hats Off to Heroes is all about. Who’s your hero?

Cpl. Michael Child
Honored by

Parker County Sheriff’s Corporal Michael Child began a law enforcement career in 2002. Following in the footsteps of his family as a third-generation law enforcement officer, Child said he chose the law enforcement field where he would be an asset to his community through helping others. And an asset he has been — he recently and heroically saved the life of a Parker County man badly injured when his arm was severed. A letter to the department from the young man’s mother said it best, “Words cannot express my overwhelming gratitude and appreciation for Corporal Michael Child. His expertise, ability to remain calm, and think clearly under pressure was evident that early morning. He has a public servant heart and will always be a hero in my eyes.”

Paul Denison was an amazing man. He lived life with a leap of faith and never gave up. During the most difficult times in his life he always found ways to overcome. Paul was never a man to boast or draw attention to himself, just always took care of what needed to be done. He showed that with his commitment to Careity in helping raise over 6 figures since 2012. With a heart and smile the size of Texas, Paul never met a stranger and was always the bright light in a crowded room.
